Your Opportunity:This role offers you a unique, challenging and exciting opportunity to work as a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department within the Sturgeon Hospital. This role will primarily be responsible for the care of EIP’s (Emergency Inpatients), with future cross training to the Emergency Department. In this role you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintaining patient flow based on clinical priorities and uphold the philosophies and policies of the Sturgeon Hospital and Emergency Department. You will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while taking the necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. The role works within a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with Emergency Department staff, Inpatient Teams, the Unit Managers, and other units to support safe quality patient care.Description:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1-year recent acute clinical experience. Strength working independently and as part of the team. Routinely demonstrate strong prioritization and assessment skills. Basic computer skills, familiarity with Connect Care, Netcare and PYXIS. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good command of the English language. Physical capability of performing all aspects of the role (bending, crouching, kneeling, overhead lifting, and mobilization of bariatric patients). Successful completion of NCCLEX.Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience in acute care inpatient hospital setting and/or Emergency departments within the last 2 years preferred. Experience working within the CoACT framework and familiarity with Connect Care preferred. ACLS, ACCN, TNCC, ENPC, PALS certification. Cardiac Monitoring/ECG Interpretation.
