Your Opportunity:Unit 33 is the Neurology and General Medicine unit at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. We are a 36 bed inpatient unit with stroke and neurology specific training along with caring for patients being treated by internal medicine and hospitalist. The unit uses a Collaborative Care model with RNs, LPNs, and HCAs all working together to their full scope as a team alongside with physicians and allied health professionals. The unit offers extensive educational opportunities and strives to provide stroke unit care equivalent to that of larger centres. Mentorship, professional development, and experiences with a wide array of patient populations can help nurses work towards many different career paths. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional Required Qualifications:Previous experience in a neurology and/or stroke, medical acute care, or rural acute care setting is required.
