Your Opportunity:

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with experience in patient-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery based care for the 8 bed medically supported detox program at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta. The Lethbridge Recovery Centre offers medically supported detoxification to individuals whose lives have been negatively impacted from alcohol and other drugs. As the Registered Nurse, you will work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to provide health services to patients accessing our medically supported detox service. Working within the RN scope of practice, you will provide direct nursing care for patients including facilitating pre-admission assessments of patients to determine physical and mental health stability, complete thorough health assessments, treatment planning, management and monitoring of both patient physical and mental health issues and medication management and administration during their treatment stay. You will demonstrate a knowledgeable and caring clinical practice that is grounded in addiction and mental health nursing from a recovery-oriented perspective; have strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrate time management, independent decision-making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; and an ability to foster positive relationships within a team environments are all expectations of this role. Lethbridge is the largest city in southern Alberta. Located 212 km southeast of Calgary on the Oldman River, Chinook winds keep winter temperatures on the mild side. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to new grad with a final focus in an acute care setting within the last 12 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as an RN in a charge role within the last 2 years would be an asset. Experience working with patients experiencing addiction and mental health concerns.
