Your Opportunity:This is an exciting opportunity to join the Labor and Delivery team at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. We are an interdisciplinary team providing care to Antepartum, Laboring, Postpartum patients along with newborns. We also care for Postoperative Caesarean patients in the Post Anesthetic Recovery Room. Our care model is focused on Patient and Family centered care. It is an expectation that all team members support the Women & Children’s portfolio as required.Description:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.17/hour - $42.96/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional Required Qualifications:3 years of Labor and Delivery experience in care of antepartum, laboring, post - partum, postoperative. caesarean section in the PARU, and newborns within the last 5 years. Neonatal Resuscitation Level 1-9. Fetal Health Surveillance (Can obtain within 3 months of hire).Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate in Nursing. Perinatal Specialty Certificate. Active Member of MOREob, such as participant and/or instructor. Management of Spinal and Epidural Anesthesia. Intravenous Therapy Initiation and Management Certification. HELP (STORK). Trained as Recovery Room Nurse for post-operative Caesarean patients. Knowledge of Antenatal, Perinatal, and Post-partum pathways.
