The Regional Commercial Operations Manager represents Rockwell Automation’s comprehensive product and solution portfolio to a Global Account customer who has made a substantial business commitment. This individual is responsible for global partnership development with the Global Account’s corporate influence points and can articulate Rockwell Automation’s value propositions at an executive customer level.

This role is REMOTE and can be located Anywhere in Canada

In a fast changing and increasingly complex selling – and buying – environment, Commercial Operations ties together strategy and roles, supported by digital applications and analytics. Commercial Operations is focused on the following
  • Aligning to customer expectations and the needs of those working with our customers
  • Building sales strategy & commercial readiness capability to ensure success in a rapidly changing environment
  • Enabling Outcome-based Selling, both for sales leaders and for collaborative selling teams
  • Ensuring a foundation of reliable data and simplified processes so we make better, faster decisions

Commercial Operations Managers are a key leadership role within Commercial Operations. The focus of this role is to help ensure the success of the region by taking a lead role in pulling together a local strategy, ensuring an enablement plan and tracking adoption, driving issue resolution, supporting communication and change management, as well as providing a voice of the field in the commercial operations planning and prioritization process. The Commercial Operations Manager is responsible for running the region efficiently and effectively.

We are looking for a strong individual who has proven experience balancing strategic thinking with a focus on execution. The ideal individual will be able to ramp up quickly to function as a chief of staff for the sales leader and has high degree of influencing skills

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide a strategic perspective, acting as a sounding board to the regional vice president and sales leaders driving informed decision making
  • Accountable for solidifying and amplifying sales strategy, sales model, role expectations, and sales methodology for the enabling our various sales personas (Strategic account, End User account, channel and technical sellers)
  • Synthesize the inputs and needs from the field and align to the greatest priorities and impact to the Canada growth
  • Represent the Canada sales team in strategic initiatives (Software, cyber security etc) and be the voice of needs within the Americas commercial operations function and various supporting functions
  • Escalate predominant issues impacting selling time; follow-up and communicate issue resolution
  • Build a regional enablement plan to ensure channel leaders and collaborative selling teams are proficient in Outcome-based Selling methodology; track adoption; provide feedback to the Americas regional enablement team
  • Collaborate with regional sales communication manager to reinforce key messages to our sellers and partners
  • Leverage deliverables of global team to reduce duplication/increase capacity and capture sales team needs and requirements for platform improvements to increase system utilization and speed on special initiatives; provide input to the Americas commercial operations team
  • Align across commercial operations teams to ensure smooth rollout of initiatives and systems
  • Work with global sales operations team to ensure a foundation of reliable data; build trust with sales leadership by leveraging data from consistent data sources and dashboards
  • Ensure smooth regional rollout and drive adoption of partner set up and management, initiatives, processes, and systems

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field, with MBA or demonstrated business acumen
  • Ability to Travel 10-20%

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experienced leader with 5 years of experience in sales, preferably with experience in commercial leadership role
  • 8+ years of leadership experience and managing direct reports
  • Strong understanding of modern selling and proven ability to build and communicate strategy
  • Analytical mindset, with capacity to absorb information and data to drive solid conclusions
  • Ability to articulate complex messages in a clear way, and effectively propose ideas and get buy in. Present strategies at a leadership level.
  • Collaborative style, which can drive consensus across indirect reporting lines and peer groups
  • Project management and/or continuous improvement certification is a plus
