The Opportunity:

As a Reclamation Planning Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise to the technical planning of reclamation and remediation projects. Plan the effective reclamation and remediation of sites while working with the Reclamation Operations Coordinators to execute the work primarily in Alberta. This position provides an opportunity to collaborate with the Well Abandonment, Pipeline Abandonment, Facility Decommissioning, Operations, Environment, Land and Production groups.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct planning and project priority evaluations on our inventory of sites for reclamation and remediation
  • Manage regulatory reporting, approvals and communications during the reclamation and remediation process such as AER OneStop and SIR Requests
  • Work with the Reclamation Operations Coordinators to trouble shoot issues in the reclamation and remediation process
  • Working with the planning team, develop annual plans and budgets for a geographic area
  • Apply past learnings from completed projects to implement continuous improvements to Canadian Natural’s reclamation processes.
  • Ensuring data quality is maintained in Siteview to enable accurate planning and reporting

  • Shift schedule: 5x2 - Monday to Friday, 8 hours per shift
  • Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s relocation policy

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years of oil and gas industry experience in a related field
  • Engineering or Environmental Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent
  • Field and project management experience is an asset
  • Must have a working ability to function in the following:
    • AccuMap & Abadata mapping systems, SiteView/WellView, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must be familiar with AB (AER) regulations pertaining to the reclamation and remediation of upstream oil and gas sites
  • Proven ability to conduct technical planning and coordination of a number of sites while collaboratively working with others to execute the work
