W.R. Davis Engineering Limited (Davis) is a dynamic mid-sized company specializing in the design of infrared (IR) signature solutions for both naval and aerospace platforms. Job Summary:

The successful applicant will work as part of a team responsible for ensuring the end product meets drawing specifications and customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Verify incoming, in-process and final product meets specifications by conducting visual inspection and dimensional verification compared to Engineering drawings and other technical specifications.
  • Clearly document non-conformities for effective understanding of the issue and decision-making.
  • Ensure non-conforming material is quarantined and escalated for disposition according to Problem Management processes.
  • Collect data in electronic systems according to documented Inspection Test Plans.

Job Qualifications:

  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • 20-20 vision (unaided or corrected).
  • Correct colour recognition.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, schematics, blueprints and 3D CAD models.
  • Good working knowledge of welding, fabrication processes and controls.
  • Familiarity with special processes (ex. plating, painting, heat treating).
  • Apply reliable measurement techniques.
  • Experience with MS Office applications such as Excel and Word. Comfortable with computer based systems.
  • Mechanical Technologist diploma (or considerable related work experience).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a Controlled Goods clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain a NATO SECRET clearance.

- Preference given for experience with:

  • AS9100 Quality Certification and AS9102 First Article Inspections.
  • Coordinate-Measuring Machines (CMM), especially FARO Arms.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD), especially with SolidWorks.
  • Infor Visual ERP software.
  • Measurement Systems Analysis.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Hands on experience with measurement instruments (Caliper, micrometer, scales, circ tape etc.)
