Job Summary:

The principal responsibilities of a Quality Assurance Technologist are to assure that Company and Regulatory expectations and requirements are met, for actively participating in the maintenance of an effective Quality Management System aligned with the latest industry standards and engaging in related Continual Improvement activities within the Company.

Responsibilities:

A member of Quality Assurance has the following responsibilities:

  • Focuses on quality activities to ensure compliance with business requirements and continuously improve product quality and system processes performance
  • Validate the manufacturing process, the product and control plans (Routers, FAI, Assembly data sheets, etc.), to the most current Diamond Aircraft and industry specifications.
  • Verification of the final product quality and build documentation.
  • Preparation and approval of documents involved in the certification and release of products for delivery to customers.
  • Initiate, investigate and participate in corrective and preventative action to address product, process, and system non-conformances.
  • Interact with regulatory authorities on production QA issues.
  • Support and/or provide training in the quality system, statistical tools application and special processes applicable fields.
  • Interface with designers and suppliers to obtain necessary data to ensure the products meet the quality requirements.
  • Advise and confer with engineers in the design process to ensure quality requirements are considered, defined, and planned for.
  • Evaluate and amend sub-processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Plan and carry out internal product, process and supplier Quality Audits and participate in regulatory authority or third-party audits to ensure adherence to and effectiveness of company’s processes.
  • Act as a liaison with suppliers on production issues.
  • Validate the quality clauses applicable to supplier contracts.
  • Review all relevant contract documentation for quality requirements and prepare quality plans as required.
  • Oversee the control of documents and records.
  • Oversee the measuring and testing equipment calibration activities.
  • Oversee the MRB activity.
  • Perform of risk assessments.
  • General support for production, in-service issues and marketing including support for new equipment, support for proposals, etc.
  • Provide assistance to the Manager on projects planning, budget etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary training in Aerospace, Mechanical or Quality Technology or Material Science (or equivalent).
  • 5 years’ experience in Aviation Quality Assurance.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry Quality System and Processes Management requirements and associated quality procedures and techniques.
  • Proficient in developing plans both independent and system integrated.
  • Tooling qualification experience.
  • Proficient in interpretation of drawings and GD&T.
  • Basic understanding of MRP and ERP system tools.
  • Basic understanding of 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and Six Sigma practices.
  • Ability to produce clear and comprehensive written procedures and reports.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office, Visio, MS Project, databases, and Internet along with the ability to learn other application software packages.
  • Proactive thinker and creative.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be a team player and a person with initiative, strong sense of responsibility & good judgment.
  • Must be highly adaptable to effectively deal with changes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
