About the Role

Quality Assurance Analyst I

Reports To

Quality Assurance Manager (within the Technology Delivery Division)

Challenge/Role

The Quality Assurance Analyst I will participate in testing activities on our e-hub digital platform to support the functional and operational requirements defined by stakeholders. You will participate in project meetings, analyze requirements, create test plans, create test scripts and execute test cases. You will analyze results and document/report defects and observations to the e-hub project team.

Opportunity

  • You will work with our Quality Assurance team and the Digital Platform Specialist to become familiar with the testing environment and testing tools.
  • You will analyze documentation and work with others on the Quality Assurance and Development teams to derive test strategies and execute test cases for assigned projects.
  • You will use Jira to actively report/manage defects and observations to the project teams.
  • You will participate in project meetings and daily scrums to stay current on project requirements and provide QA updates to the project team as required.
  • Analyze defects and assess risks and impacts to project.
  • You will participate in retrospectives when projects are completed to provide feedback from the Quality Assurance perspective on what worked well with the project and what could be improved for future projects

About You

Education & Experience Requirements

  • You hold a BSc degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • You have more than 2 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role (payments preferred)
  • You are experienced in defining & developing test scripts (Perl, Python, or other) for automated test scripts
  • You have strong knowledge of web-based front-end application framework and web-based UI languages such as JavasScript/jQuery and NodeJS
  • You understand API specs (REST APIs, Microservices)
  • You are experienced in REST APIs, JSON, databases, and Agile testing methodologies
  • It is a strong asset to possess knowledge of Jira and Confluence tools
  • Payment Processing switch experience (base 24 preferred) and knowledge of Payment Networks such as MasterCard, Interac, Visa & Exchange will be a great asset

  • You demonstrate strong initiative and desire to learn.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify problems and drive to resolution.
  • Your ability to work independently with little supervision and multitask effectively is coupled with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • You have a desire and willingness to learn and are not hesitant to reach out to find answers.
