A full-time Cold Storage Supervisorposition is available at our Kitchener – Cold Storage location.

Shift Details: Monday to Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

45 hours per week. May be required to work overtime or change hours dependent on freight volumes or inspection requirements. On Call requirements to be worked out with supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• To understand the business of Cold Storage and become proficient with related operations systems (inventory and transportation)
• Be familiar and qualified to ensure policies and procedures of CFIA and HACCP regulations are complied with and completed. Follow up on any required HACCP orders.
• Schedule and arrange workforce requirements according to volumes.
• Receive and ship inventory according to instruction including manual handling sorting of product.
• Monitor staff work performance with annual appraisals and communication meetings. Document any discipline or training issues with staff. Follow diligently all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Locate orders according to slips (freezer) Ensure proper piece count accuracy and document any discrepancies when required.
• Familiarize oneself of the refrigeration system (Freon) and monitor its operations, including weekly inspections.
• Operate a truck/shunt truck to move trailers
• Stage orders on dock to meet shipping deadlines.
• Responsible for inventory control i.e. manual, computer and auditing processes. Be familiar with racking system and assist in set-up.
• Complete paperwork on orders when required.
• Work in co-operation with other Cold Storage staff in solving problems. Trace product for customers when required.
• All other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Team player
• HACCP knowledge/experience or willing to learn.
• Mechanical knowledge is an asset.
• Supervisory experience required
• Ability to work in cold climate conditions
