Underwriter, Professional Solutions – Halifax

We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic, forward-thinking team of Specialty Insurance underwriters in our Halifax office.

The successful applicant will be passionate and results oriented with the capability to build upon and foster relationships with new and existing broker clients. Specifically, the successful applicant will be responsible for both marketing and underwriting our suite of Specialty Insurance Solutions including Miscellaneous E&O, Technology E&O, Cyber Liability, Media Liability

Accountabilities:

• Managing a portfolio of miscellaneous errors and omissions, medical malpractice, and technology E&O programs
• Managing a portfolio of online professional liability products and programs
• Maintaining and building broker relationships
• Evaluating exposures and determining appropriate terms and conditions of coverage
• Learning new product lines and coverages as they are developed
• Maintaining a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends and their impact on products offered

Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience underwriting specialty lines (E&O, Medical Malpractice, or Cyber/Technology preferred)
• Bachelor degree or post-secondary education in communication, business, or insurance preferred
• Bilingual in French and English an asset
