Position: Traffic Coordinator, Local Radio Sales Waterloo

Status:Regular Part-Time

Location: Kitchener, Ontario

Would you be excited to support a sales and programming team responsible for selling our multimedia portfolio and report to an experienced Sales Executive Team with extensive knowledge and experience in media sales?


The Role:

Reporting to the General Sales Manager, the Traffic Coordinator will be an integral part of the radio team in supporting a team of high-energy sales and programming professionals who are passionate about contributing to Bell Media’s goal as being Canada’s top media company and helping our clients to achieve success in the Kitchener Waterloo area and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process local and national advertising sales orders.
  • Liaise with local and national account managers on any errors or inventory challenges
  • Management of airtime inventory with a focus on maximizing revenue
  • Creating and scheduling programming elements, features and commercial breaks as provided by the Program Director and General Sales Manager
  • Prepare and maintain daily radio commercial logs that adhere to station formats and guidelines
  • Exporting the logs daily to the Wide Orbit Automation system
  • Reconciliation of daily commercial logs for billing purposes
  • Liaise with Sales, Creative, Promotions, Programming, Imaging, and Finance
  • Assist with regular inventory, sponsorships and revenue reporting
  • Reception assistance
  • Assist in any other sales, programming and traffic department activities
  • Other duties as assigned


Critical Competencies:

  • Previous broadcasting traffic experience or related post-secondary education
  • A highly developed internal and external client service orientation
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem solving and decision making skills
  • High attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Must demonstrate high energy, enthusiasm, motivation and confidence
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under pressure of deadlines and last minute revisions
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point


Preferred Competencies:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Broadcast experience preferred
  • Experience using Wide Orbit
  • Digital knowledge (Basic terminology, DFP)


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
