In Canada, we have two lines of business, General Insurance and Life and Health. Our General Insurance business is one of the top homes and auto insurance groups in Canada and the national leader in group insurance and affinity marketing. Our Life and Health business is the number one provider of critical illness insurance and direct life and health insurance in Canada.

In your role as an appraiser, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct property appraisals (both desk and on-site) and build reports in order to establish adequate coverage amounts, identify potential additional coverage needs, documentation and photographs of materials, finishes and unique characteristics, end to end risk management and client consultation (This includes managing of construction projects, both renovation and new construction).
- Promote the TD brand and earn our customers’ trust as the face of the company during appraisals.
- Analyze and resolve disputes related to customer complaints, replacement cost and risk engineering, etc.
- Contribute data regularly from interviews with industry professionals including but not limited to general contractors, engineers, architects, interior designers and other design and construction professionals.
- Quality assurance reviews of vendor reports.
Requirements
- 2+ years of industry related experience.
- Architectural, custom home construction and/or estimating background an asset
- Ability to influence clients through proactive advice
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work with strict and often overlapping deadlines
- Work proactively with direct manager to develop improved client experience, operational and practice management practices and overall personal development
- CRM/CIP considered an asset
- Regular travel within province
