David Aplin Group, one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a talented Systems Support Administrator to join their growing Halifax office.

Reporting to the Director of Systems Support, the Systems Support Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day resolution of issues and requests (tickets) as well as monitoring and maintenance of all workstations and peripherals within the organization as it pertains to hardware, operating systems, and application software. They will also be responsible for keeping inventory up to date, ensuring all software licenses are properly recorded, as well as keeping the systems area, the cage of the system, and the software cabinet organized and clean.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems
• Install/Upgrade computer components and software to keep in line with production standards
• Assist in ensuring all software licenses are properly assigned
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues
• Assist in ensuring that the inventory systems are up to date
• Provide documentation of all methods and procedures
• Perform additional duties as required
  
  

Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience as a Systems Administrator
• Completed post-secondary education in the Computer-related area of study
• Strong communication skills and the ability to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Proven experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge and understanding of basic network issues
• Strong knowledge and troubleshooting of OSX, Windows, and Linux OS
• Strong knowledge and troubleshooting of basic office applications
