JBS Equipment is a rapidly growing agricultural manufacturing company located in beautiful Mission, BC. We are looking to add a Supply Chain Manager/ Purchaser to the growing team. This is a new position and will be responsible for material resource planning, inventory management, and securing quality suppliers of materials and components covering with price, delivery and quality.

Please note that this position will be approximately 60% supply chain management and 40% purchasing.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Manage supply chain related to production activities, including but not limited to forecasting material consumption and working with supplier to ensure on-time delivery, weekly material stockout reports, and overseeing purchasing of long lead inventory.
  • Management of inventory and consumables, including but not limited to setting min/max levels, cycle counts, year-end counts, and negative inventory review.
  • Managing and controlling all the company’s external suppliers with emphasis on the purchase of materials and finished parts for production
  • Management of RGA program
  • Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production.
  • Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company’s needs.
  • Identify new suppliers, agree terms, and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structure, volume rebates and shipping costs
  • Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spending
  • Creating and searching for new parts assemblies to help reduce costs and promote efficiency
  • Material costs – stringent material control is required to assure company targets are met.
  • Support various department requests tied to purchasing/inventory
  • Various projects and duties as assignment by management

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or Degree in related field, such as Supply Chain, Business, or International Trade
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Familiar with contracts and negotiating
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Must have intermediate or greater Microsoft Excel skills
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Pro or Enterprise (version ‘14 to ‘21) is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.
  • Proven success in training, development of others, and leading and building strong stable teams.
  • Strong professional and work ethics, self-motivated, accountable and results oriented.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Requires daily walking and standing.
  • Infrequent visits to areas where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
