Some of what you will do
The primary responsibility of this role is to partner with the business to evaluate financial reporting implications of business initiatives and pivots. This involves building profitability and cash flow models, performing analyses, reviewing reconciliations and reporting on products and services. This role will also work closely with cross functional teams, members of the finance team and external advisors to participate in due diligence and integration activities of M&A opportunities.
- Partner with the business to assess business and alignment initiatives, collaborate with cross functional teams to gather information, and provide a point of view on the financial implications
- Build accurate and complete financial models of initiatives and valuation models of potential acquisition targets
- Develop and review analyses, reporting and reconciliations to measure profitability and success against targets and the business case
- Build and foster relationships with the business, IT and other Finance areas to evaluate and support initiatives
- Lead the execution and implementation/transition of initiatives in accordance with IFRS and company policies
- Participate as a Finance lead in the implementation of systems and solutions with a finance impact
- Participate in financial and operational due diligence and project manage activities of cross functional teams, including external consultants and advisors, if necessary
- Review materials prior to Business Initiatives Committee evaluation
- M&A evaluation, due diligence and integration as required
- Cultivate a continuous improvement mindset within the finance team
- Other projects and ad hoc requests as required
Some of what you need
- University degree in accounting, business, finance or a related field
- CPA designation required
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive finance experience
- Public company reporting experience
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of IFRS
- Resourceful and strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with members of the finance team and the business
- Strong attention to detail
- Independent while collaborative and a strong team player
- Takes ownership and initiative
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Results oriented and the ability to work under tight deadlines, and manage competing priorities
- Ability to work with a positive attitude and in a professional manner
- Enjoy working in a fast paced, changing environment
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- ERP Oracle experience an asset
