Position Summary

The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor and a genuine desire to provide excellent customer service. Your main responsibility will be transporting our guests in a safe and timely manner to and from the hotel. You will assist in the welcoming all of our guests by maintaining a presence in the lobby; as well as creating an inviting lobby experience. Ability to work weekends is a requirement for this position.

Summary Of Responsibilities
  • Transport guests in a safe and law-abiding manor to airport, university and / or local golf course on a defined schedule
  • Visually inspect shuttles (e. g., to identify defects) and inform the Front Office Manager of maintenance needs
  • Inspect property vehicles for damage and cleanliness, clean the shuttle inside and out as required
  • Check tire pressure and fluid levels for property vehicle, and refuel as necessary
  • Be an Ambassador to the hotel creating memorable experiences for our guest
  • Provide warm, sincere and engaging service that ensures guests feel welcome
  • Provide a positive and welcoming presence in the lobby for our hotel guests.
  • Gain working knowledge of all areas of the Front Office allowing you to assist them during “crunch” periods (assist with providing directions to guests, answering questions, assisting with luggage, organizing/stocking of gift shop, replenish coffee/water station)
  • Provide courteous and professional services at all times
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance
  • Maintain positive working relations with colleagues and all hotel departments
  • Be a liaison with the Front Office, Housekeeping and Restaurant to ensure a smooth arrival and farewell experience with VIP guests
  • Meet and greet tour groups on arrival and assist bus driver in parking of bus (including porterage on request)
  • Exterior cleaning duties & keeping the front entrance area looking its best; sweeping, garbage disposal, window cleaning etc.
  • Snow removal during the winter months (brushing off vehicles in the long term lot & shoveling sidewalks), as required
  • Know the history of the hotel as well as the local attractions and amenities
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards
  • Assist and sometimes without assistance move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps
  • Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  • Assist as a waterslide attendant during scheduled times
Qualifications

To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate the following:
  • Must possess a valid BC Driver’s license (class 5) and a clean Drivers Abstract
  • High school Diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Competent communication skills, in the form of: oral, reading and writing.
  • Must be physically fit, will be required to lift and transport luggage upwards of 50 lbs
  • Interpersonal skills: must be polite, professional and ensure passengers are satisfied with their experience
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including: early mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to speak other languages an asset
  • Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR is preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly respond to changing work volume with high-energy level and speed
  • Ability to work safely and in compliance with all health and safety standards to maintain a safe and hazard free work environment
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a team setting to anticipate and assist to another employee’s guests’ needs
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge and conversational ability in order to effortlessly provide quality guest experience and encourage both cross-promotion/sales of related products and company services/activities/products across the complex.
  • Outstanding attention to detail – both personal grooming/appearance and in properly identifying guest’s needs, demeanor and level of required service attention.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with customers and employees, ensuring clear inter-departmental communication and cooperation in the interest of better guest satisfaction.
  • Perpetual cheerfulness and extroversion in order to greet each guest and respond to guest requests, modifying personal delivery as appropriate to different types of guests needs, interests and desires (adults, children, couples, cultural, etc.).
  • Ability to maintain professional composure at all times, regardless of issue, while performing multiple tasks with multiple guests/multiple items.
  • Commitment to quality and hospitality demonstrated during all interactions with customers.
  • Must be able to work weekends
