Summary

The Shopper Marketing Specialist will support the design and execution of all Shopper Marketing campaigns. This campaign will focus on building brand equity, driving traffic to stores and increasing customer engagement. The person responsible for this position will also play a critical role in managing Metro’s Category Marketing strategy through creative activations and other tactics. They will work to ensure a seamless and fully integrated brand experience that is category specific across all marketing channels as part of the customer journey. The ideal candidate is passionate about grocery retail and possesses a good balance between creative and analytics skills.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and project manage multi-faceted Shopper Marketing campaigns that support commercial business strategies, brand objectives and tactical marketing plans.

  • Manage Shopper Marketing content within Metro’s larger content calendar, including all creative category specific assets.

  • Direct external agencies to achieve project objects within budgets and timelines.

  • Link Merchant team and Marketing functional groups to manage the Shopper Marketing promotional calendar.

  • Work closely with manager in managing Pharmacy projects for all related banners.

  • Support with building of Marketing Plans, Category Plans and Post mortem decks.

  • Direct flow of information, communicating it according to plan/strategy.

  • Craft weekly communications to stores through internal shopper marketing platforms.

  • Track and consolidate period end budget and data reports; manage and process invoices.


Qualifications:

  • University degree or related education in marketing is preferred.

  • 3 – 5 years of Shopper Marketing experience. Grocery retail experience an asset.

  • Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written).

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Creative problem-solving skills, with a drive to achieve results.

  • Passion for the customer path to purchase and in-store experience.
