Independent Living Waterloo Region (ILWR) is seeking to hire a Senior Manager, Human Resources who will provide support and leadership, aimed at helping the organization to achieve its mission of ’Supporting independent living through service excellence and partnerships’.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager Human Resources plays a key advisory role at ILWR. The Manager is responsible for the analysis, development, and writing of policies, procedures, and best practices. They will manage compensation/benefits structure for employees, oversee recruitment and selection, and analyze HR metrics and benchmarking functions for continuous organizational improvement. In addition to keeping current with all applicable laws and regulations, this role requires the individual to adhere to and enforce all established agency policies and procedures. The Senior Manager Human Resources will have excellent communication skills and will maintain positive relationships between the management team and employees.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

  • Research and identify best practices in the area of compensation, benefits, and recruitment.
  • Policy writing, research, development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Develop and manage recruitment procedures, job postings, and advertising.
  • Data collection, analysis and management for Senior Leadership Team.
  • Strategically plan for the organization’s human resource needs, in concert with other supervisors.
  • Advise and assist Supervisors on the interpretation and administration of policies, programs and best practices.
  • Support Managers on organizational matters such as discrimination, discipline, harassment, etc.
  • Lead Occupational Health and Safety program.
  • Identify trends that could impact organizational objectives.
  • Provide coaching to Managers on performance management, conflict resolution, discipline, and terminations.
  • Ensure the security of employee records.
  • Analyze benefit programs and serve as primary contact with service providers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in related field of study.
  • Completed or working towards CHRL Designation.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strategic objectives for HR and the organization.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in HR required.
  • Experience in the healthcare and or non-profit organizations preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant employment laws.
  • Strong computer literacy, including HRIS, SharePoint, Adobe products, and MS Office required.

JOB DETAILS

Position: Full-Time, Permanent, Competitive Starting Salary

Hours: Approx. 40 Hrs/Week.

Location: 127 Victoria Street S. Kitchener ON.

WORK SCHEDULE

This position works Monday - Friday at ILWR’s Administrative Office. Standard office hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Some after-hours and weekend flexibility is required.
