The Senior Business Systems Analyst will execute and support the development of new and revised business processes and business requirements for the implementation of technology solutions. They will engage project sponsors and key stakeholders across multiple divisions and departments to ensure their interests are considered in the development of business requirements and information technology solutions. In addition to expert communication skills, this role is technical and requires both a strong IT and analytical acumen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with key business stakeholders, ‘Business champions’ and IT partners to identify business risks and areas of improvement to implement change and drive those improvements
  • Perform in an Agile environment, gather and document use cases and business requirements
  • Facilitate user sessions and meetings with clear agendas with minutes and follow ups
  • Prepare feasibility studies and develop cost benefit analyses, including alternatives and recommendations
  • Perform gap analysis and build process flows of current and future state to support resulting solutions
  • Liaise with developers or 3rd party consultants to ensure solutions are aligned with stakeholder needs and that business requirements are translated for technical resources when required
  • Meet project deadlines and schedules and help drive momentum through effective elicitation of requirements and adaptive strategies to obtain stakeholder input
  • Ensure the business impact and project objectives/dependencies are identified, reported on and managed at all times
  • Lead and collaborate with business Subject Matter Experts (SME), business resources, Project Managers, other Business Analysts, and developers to ensure that solutions are thoroughly thought through and issues and risks are identified and resolved
  • Actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance
  • Train and support users on the use and integration of technology with business processes
  • Prepare/maintain system documentation, user guides, process maps, operations documents and training manuals
  • Develop stakeholder engagement plans, reports, templates, and tools to support business operations
  • Support quality initiatives and reviews; suggest areas for improvement in internal processes, as well as possible solutions
  • Provide operational support for issue resolution and service request management; when needed, perform root cause analysis; identify improvements, simplify processes and document them
  • Ability to prioritize and manage on-going and multiple requests and system requirements
  • Perform functional testing and coordinate and assist User Acceptance Testing to ensure developed solutions meet the business requirements in accordance with quality standards. Provide training/documentation on system changes.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in all areas of business
  • Bring expertise to other teams and share knowledge while on assignment
Qualifications
  • Education equivalent to Bachelors’ Degree in Information Technology, Business, or other related discipline or the equivalent in related work experience.
  • 7+ years of business analysis experience in a medium to large size corporate environment.
  • Experience with implementing medium to large software solutions.
  • Solid understanding of The Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience with user acceptance testing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience in project management is an asset.
  • Experienced in estimating complexity, time and effort, planning and worked closely with Project Managers to successfully meet requirements and timelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with various analysis and techniques to write detailed specifications and requirements for software development.
  • Understanding concepts in data modelling and relational database design.
  • Basic understanding of negotiation, conflict management and risk management skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Reliable, consistent, flexible and adaptable.
