We invite applications for the position of:
Computer Technician, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The current rate of pay is $30.58.

Qualifications:
Grade 12 education supplemented by: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, MCSA certifications or comparable experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of personal computers in a networked environment; two years postsecondary education; combinations of applicable education (and experience/training based on this education) may include diploma and/or bachelors work at accredited post-secondary institutions with a focus on Computer Science; minimum of three years current experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of personal computers in a networked environment; thorough knowledge of

a variety of electronic tools and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of personal computers in a networked environment; knowledge of current operation and networking systems, networking technologies and protocols, and software installation and maintenance; knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the support and use of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Windows; operating systems, Microsoft Windows Server operating system, and Microsoft Active Directory; valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license and license appropriate to the type of equipment/vehicle being operated and a personal vehicle foruse on the job; meets the physical requirements of the position; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Duties are performed under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology or designate; works effectively, both independently, with minimal guidance/instruction, and as a member of the district technology team to install, maintain and repair a variety of computer equipment including personal computers, peripheral devices, servers and network equipment used in district LANs and WANs; identifies and resolves issues with a variety of software applications and hardware tools; services, repairs and performs routine maintenance on a variety of district computer and audio-visual equipment; moves, sets up and assists in the operation of various computer and audio-visual equipment; maintains an inventory of consumable items and replacement parts for the repair of personal computer and audio-visual equipment; maintains an inventory of district computers and network equipment;

receives, assembles and inspects newly-received computer, network and server equipment; assists users with the operation and use of computers and other district technology hardware and software; actsas back-up in the absence of the Help Desk Technical Support Clerk-1; maintains currency in industry standard computer and networking applications and demonstrates flexibility and willingness to learn about new and emerging technology; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working

environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
