Risk Control Trainee, Property and Casualty Insurance

The CNA Risk Control Trainee Program provides insurance and technical training so participants can acquire the skills and build the expertise needed to become risk control consultants.

As a trainee, you will start your career at the CNA Canada head office in Toronto, learning about insurance, introduced to working in a corporate environment, and gain experience with dealing with unique customer settings. Risk Control Consultants serve CNA’s primary industries including: manufacturing, construction, technology, healthcare, professional services, real estate and financial institutions by providing risk assessments that assist CNA to underwrite risks as well as deliver risk control products and services to help manage risk.

• Knowledge needed to conduct risk assessments and deliver risk control services to help businesses sustain their financial strength by managing risk;
• Dedicated expertise and focused direction to understand risks associated with commercial & industrial property, products liability, general liability, and automobile fleet, in a wide variety of industry risks;
• Application of your knowledge in Fire Protection Engineering of automatic sprinkler design, special protection systems and hazard recognition to the assessment and evaluation of commercial and industrial manufacturing risks;
• Opportunity to support the underwriting process by providing an overall opinion of the risk and develop custom solutions and advise clients on best practices in risk mitigation and safety management strategies;
• Professional, insurance and technical skills needed to build the expertise as a risk control consultant

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or other engineering discipline; equivalent experience will be considered
