Job Summary & RequirementsThe Cardiac Care Unit is a 7-bed inpatient unit with all private rooms, highly specialized unit staffed and equipped to care for patients with serious cardiology conditions that require advanced monitoring and or interventions. The CCU is a multidisciplinary health care team that works with patients and their loved ones as they arrive to the unit. The multidisciplinary CCU team, including cardiologists, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers and other allied health professionals that work collaboratively to provide excellence and high quality patient and family centered care. As the Registered Nurse (RN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation.Education:

• Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses
• Critical Care Certificate preferred or completion within two years of hire
• Coronary Care I & II required
• Current BCLS required
• Current ACLS required or completion within 6 months.
• Must pass a screening arrhythmia quiz obtaining an 80% to move onto interview phase

Experience:

• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump experience is preferred
• Strong background in cardiovascular physiology, electrocardiography and rhythm interpretation is required
• Experience with pacemaker device analyzing/programming is required
