Arcadis is seeking a Project Scheduler/Project Controller to join our team in Copper Hill, Ontario (Greater Sudbury, Ontario). The successful incumbent will be stationed on site and will be reporting to the Project Manager and Site Superintendent. Local hire required as this role will travel to client site as needed.

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Project Scheduler/Project Controller to join our team Copper Hill, Ontario (Greater Sudbury, Ontario). The successful incumbent will be stationed on site and will report to the Project Manager and Site Superintendent. Local hire required as this role will travel to client site as needed.

The job duties include but are not limited to tracking daily project costs/productions and entering them into a cost tracker, producing project documentation (purchase orders, subcontractor agreements, client specific documentation, etc.), be responsible for processing and reconciliation of subcontractor invoices, schedule and completing reports for the Project Manager. The Project Scheduler/Project Controller will provide construction schedule analysis in support of multiple projects, update and maintain cost loaded schedules (based on contractor provided schedules), and coordinates scheduling/estimating activities with the project team.

Role accountabilities:
  • Liaise regularly with project management, sub-contractors, and vendors;
  • Assists with the implementation and updates of planning and scheduling systems;
  • Build, update and maintain a resource loaded P6 project schedule;
  • Coordinate project administrative functions, drawing control, change order control, trade tendering, purchasing, and general office requirements;
  • Assists in takeoff quantities, cost estimates (as a secondary duty to project requirements);
  • Organizes and maintains project files, records, systems, and procedures;
  • Continued development and maintenance of existing project cost/manpower forecasting system, including the issuance of monthly reports;
  • Assists with the preparation of regular progress reports;
  • Managing Client contract communication platform and distributing information requests to groups such as QA oversight, engineering, and field management;
  • Organize, attend, and prepare the Minutes of Meeting for the Preconstruction Kick Off meetings with subcontractors/ suppliers;
  • Aiding in resolving issues and escalating problems as required to appropriate team members;
  • Managing sensitive and/or confidential information;
  • Proofreading and fact-checking plans and procedures;
  • Supporting the Site Superintendent and Project Manager with any other tasks that may arise.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years’ experience preferred
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree
  • Requires experience working with Primavera 6
  • A minimum of 5 years in Canada to be able to complete the Federal Background check
  • Must have valid Driver’s License

Key Attributes/Requirements:
  • Experience in environmental construction projects is a plus
  • Be able to interpret project drawings
  • Exceptional communication, organizational skills, and a commitment to attention to detail in all tasks
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize and manage time efficiently to complete tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Be open to indoor and outdoor work environments (Positions may be on site depending on client requirements)
