Job Description

As one of the most innovative first aid training providers in Atlantic Canada, Life Start is seeking a qualified First Aid Training Instructor to be based in the Moncton, New Brunswick area. This position is for 10-12 days per month (3 days must be weekend dates, not on holiday weekends). The successful candidate will be able to choose their shifts 6 months in advance. Teaching shifts are between 6.5-8.5 hours.

The online instructor training portion is to be completed before the start date. Co-teaching hours will be paid.

The ideal instructor:

• has some level of first aid or CPR training or work-experience;

• is a quick learner and excellent communicator;

• is a natural problem-solver;

• has an understanding of adult learning principles;

• has a vehicle and driver’s license;

• has availability to teach weekdays and weekends 10-12 days per month

Responsibilities

• Instruct First Aid Courses taught by Life Start Training– schedule to be

determined three to six months in advance based on a slate of courses (10-12 days per month, with the possibility of teaching additional courses if desired).

• Promote and sell Life Start Training courses and products;

• Travel to other areas in New Brunswick to instruct courses if required;

• Maintain and clean first aid classrooms, equipment, and supplies;

• Basic administrative work surrounding each class (uploading class rosters,

tracking student success, creating and circulating certificates, etc.)

Requirements

• High school diploma.

• Professional image with excellent instructing and marketing and sales skills.

• Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate (if hired, Life Start can provide one prior to instructor training).

• Other Trainer certifications considered to be an asset.

• Comfortable in using a computer for course delivery and other related

administrative tasks.

• Ability to travel out of town if required.

• Ability to work independently and on weekends and evenings as required.

• Ability to teach in French or another language other than English is considered

to be an asset.
