Packaging Designer/Engineer ( 6 month contract)

The Packaging Designer ensures that solutions have been designed to meet customer requirements. Proper thought process needs to be followed to develop solutions. Assisting Sales team in a timely manner with professionalism would be important for the success of this role.

Job Duties:

• To support Sales by designing packaging solutions to be manufactured on site in an assortment of materials.
• To understand the conceptual drawing or Samples and create solutions using AutoCAD LT 2019 (2D)
• To Provide end to end process of Scoping, Designing and Sampling of Solutions
• To Provide quotes to Sales team
• To provide BOM listing for designed solutions
• To assist for ISTA testing.
• To cut the samples on digital cutter (ZUND).
• To digitize Existing Steel rule dies to be compatible with the digital cutter using AutoCAD.
• Generate Assembly instructions
• To assist Inventory and Quality team in Data collection, NCR Process.
• To support Quality team for ISO 9001-2015 Implementation.
• Other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Creative thinker with an enthusiastic "team-player" attitude
• Able to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strict attention to detail
• Should possess a working knowledge of materials and processes used in package development, evaluation, and manufacturing
• Experienced in developing 2D package die-lines using current CAD software
• Familiar with operation of ZUND or Kongsberg cutting tables a benefit
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator a plus
• Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of ISTA testing is beneficial.
• Prior quoting experience is valuable.
• Flexibility in changing priorities and responsibilities to support business needs.
• Hands-on participation and a strong sense of ownership.
• Candidate should be able to work under minimum Supervision.

This role is a 6 month contract in Brampton - compensation will be $45,000.
