Market Research Advisor

Position Highlights

The Market Research Advisor will manage strategic initiatives that will improve the capabilities of the Customer Research team

to support ICBC corporate strategy. The successful candidate is not simply looking to fulfill research project requests, but is also

looking to drive improvements to how research is designed and delivered within an organization. You will bring a blend of proven

market research expertise and a deep understanding of how to make customer research an integral part of an organization.

Your strong communication, project management, and relationship building skills will enable you to quickly forge strong ties to

stakeholders and become a trusted advisor within the organization.

Some of but not all of the specific accountabilities include:
  • Conducts market intelligence on complex medium to large scale research initiatives;
  • Responsible for leading or supporting the overall approach, design and implementation for assigned research initiatives (which
may include projects relating to governance, customer strategy, and corporate policy), consulting with Manager as required;

  • Defines research project scope and structure and develops the research project plan;
  • Responsible for the vendor management during the course of the project including procurement, evaluating proposals,
selecting and onboarding the chosen vendor, negotiating pricing, developing contracts and managing the vendor relationship

and deliverables.

Position Requirements

  • This specialized training is typically recognized by an undergraduate degree and/or a professional designation in a
technical/business/scientific field;

  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills; experience with SPSS, Qualtrics and other surveying and panel platforms an asset;
  • 5+ years of related work experience; covering all aspects of qualitative and quantitative market and social research and market
intelligence; familiarity with CATI an asset;

  • Strong interpersonal, numerate, analytical, writing, creative and organizational skills; ability to tailor presentations and
conversations to different audiences

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in collaborating with stakeholders to build frameworks or strategies that raise an
organization’s ability to understand and integrate the voice of the customer down to the operational level

  • Knowledge current and upcoming governing acts and legislation pertaining to conducting research such as FIPPA, Patriot Act,
CASL, and legal contracting formulation.

  • Candidates should indicate in the application any MRIA or other relevant coursework completed or if they hold the CMRP
designation.
