MB Country Living is looking for a Manager In Training to support our 7 Retail Locationsacross Southern Ontario.You will learn to be responsible for the ongoing execution of all daily functions of each of our retail stores and warehouses. This includes a range of environments – from low volume farm stores up to high volume retail locations. You will take initiative to monitor performance through the use of outlined metrics to celebrate successes and make adjustments when necessary. The successful candidate takes pride in the quality of their work, approaches tasking with urgent, yet positive energy, and shares our commitment to excellence in customer service and personal accountability.

- Not afraid of the tough conversations – you work closely with your team, but still review performance and productivity from the perspective of the business, able to deliver coaching and corrective action as needed.

- Attentive to logistics – you pay attention to selling patterns in order to ensure your store is appropriately stocked with the necessary product. You can learn to anticipate customers’ needs based on seasonality and market trends, adjusting ordering and min/max quantities to accommodate demand.

- An innovator – you’re always looking to identify opportunities to enhance your store and your connection with the community.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

Customer Service

- Offer high level quality of presentation through maintaining MB standards of cleanliness on the sales floor and in the warehouse - both physically and through preserving MB visual merchandising standards.

- Greet each customer promptly and with courtesy – host them on the sales floor, at cash point, at the loading dock, over the phone, or via e-mail as required.

- Provide best in class customer service according to MB standards – listening actively and communicating in straightforward manner to ensure high level satisfaction through excellence in service and follow up

- Anticipate changes in customer demand for particular goods, adjusting ordering amounts as a result

- Utilize high level conflict resolution skills to Identify, address, and resolve any and all customer concerns.

- Communicate consistently with Retail Operations to discuss planning, budgeting, sales promotions and advertising campaigns, such as our customer favourite recurring Flyer

Job Knowledge

- Able to think critically, problem solve, and make decisions at a fast pace in high pressure situations.

-Actively work with product - able to lift and carry 55lbs without restriction, maximizes selling opportunities through stocking, replenishing, rotating, cleaning, assembling, displaying (including price labelling) and merchandising as per MB guidelines.

- Operate the Point of Sale to process all required transactions & issue receipts courteously and efficiently, concluding with a carry out of merchandise as per MB customer service standard “We Load it For You”.

- Execute reductions, price changes, standard equipment checks, expiry audits, cycle counts, and all other MB routines and processes including administrative/management duties as directed.

- Ensure established policies and procedures are followed to minimize safety concerns and product loss due to inventory shrink, theft, etc.

- Create schedules for store staff, maintaining a labour ratio between acceptable and profitable standards. This may include recruitment or dismissal as necessary, with the support of Head Office.

- Monitor and engage in various aspects of employee lifecycle - onboarding, scheduling, coaching, and providing regular feedback for continued development by delivering MB Employee Performance Reviews.

- Utilize daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports to monitor the performance of the store, reacting accordingly to follow up

- Perform all reporting and administrative duties per MB Standards as required i.e. Incident Reports, Cash Reporting, Health and Safety Audits, Employee Reviews/Corrective Actions, etc

General Requirements

- Responsible for earning CPR/First Aid and Pesticide Vendor certifications.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule – a commitment of 50% of Saturdays is required (priority on April-May spring rush).

- A clean driver’s abstract is required – may be requested to transfer or provide temporary support to different locations, for the continued development of the company and individual

- Occasionally required to attend trade shows/fairs to promote products and company, as directed by Head Office.
