Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Manager of Korean Content, the Lead Editor is responsible for ensuring the best-in-class quality of our written content and localization strategies for various customer touch points. They will develop and implement writing guidelines for various channels and projects, elevating the technical skills of the Korean team through training, workshops, and feedback. The ideal candidate will have strong collaboration, communication, and influencing abilities and be driven to develop talent.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance - 50%
  • Revise all creative Korean copy, including editorials, related PR content, external communications, social media and any other ad hoc requests
  • Write, implement, and update tone, approach, and stylistic guidelines for the Korean channels
  • Maintain strict standards of quality control and reinforce our tone of voice through editing and training workshops to improve quality output of the team
  • Monitor, maintain, and update creative guidelines to ensure content is consistent, accurate, and continuously relevant for our Korean customers
  • Co-develop and execute on content strategies for ad-hoc requests and projects
  • Work closely with the Korean and other language teams in performing various translation and revision assignments as required
Training & Development - 30%
  • Provide training, mentorship, and timely feedback to the team
  • Devise individual training plans to elevate the overall quality of our Korean content
  • Hold one-on-one meetings with team members for quality review purposes, ensuring continuous improvement in terms of writing skills
  • Provide feedback on individual performance to the Associate Manager with respect to quality targets
  • Execute and lead in-person on-boarding and training programs with other editors for all levels of the team
Production Management - 20%
  • Manage deadlines and resource allocation for editorial production and other ad-hoc projects
  • Produce written work for editorial or other projects as required
  • Lead research efforts to support the Associate Manager’s business priorities and requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Korean Literature, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in writing, editing, translation and adaptation, ideally in an agency or as part of a content team in a high-volume publishing environment
  • Mastery of Korean grammar, spelling, and usage including ability to craft culturally-sensitive texts
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • Superior research skills
  • Solid understanding of tone of voice, with the ability to adapt to different writing styles
  • Strong grasp of SEM, SEO, and content marketing strategies
