Tiercon Corp. is an automotive supplier committed to the design, manufacture and assembly of quality exterior trim and assembled systems used as original equipment in the automotive market. Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Jr. Launch Quality Engineer at our 591 Arvin facility.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure

• Reports to Lead Launch QE
• To learn how to develop and maintain programs from inception through to production.
• To be familiar with and practice and promote all aspects of the ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 Quality System and Health & Safety policies.
  

Responsibilities

• Learn how to Coordinate and facilitate APQP’s activities and prepare all necessary documentation
• Complete PPAP Submissions: PSW paperwork, PFMEA’s Control Plans, Dimensional Layouts, Process Performance Studies, Gauge R & R Studies, mark up prints, etc.
• Manage internal and external dimensional layouts on parts and gauges
• Develop and complete MSA on gauges in accordance with customer specific requirements.
• Review Supplier PPAP’s as required
• Work with SQE to assist suppliers to develop new programs and submit PPAP on time
• Develop knowledge in molding and paint processes
• Complete special projects, with full reports and submission to manager
• Review programs for continuous improvement as required
• Assist Launch and Plant QE’s with Root cause analysis on verbal and written customer concerns
• Assist in the development, construction and evaluation of all fixtures and gauges
• Visit supplier locations as required
• Develop and maintain all quality records including REC and in process inspection sheets
• Other duties as assigned by the Lead Launch QE
• ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 duties as required
  

Qualifications

Education Required

College Diploma (Mechanical / Industrial / Quality or

Chemical Engineering, C.Q.E., C.Q.T.)

Training Required

PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and Corrective action process.

Equivalent Experience

1 year’s engineering experience

Exposure to injection moulding, painting and assembly

Exposure to IATF16949 procedures

Experience in computer systems (Windows, Microsoft Office, Macros and Data base)

Experience with working with customers such as Ford, GM, and Chrysler
