THE PROPERTY

Lake Louise Inn is a full-service hotel with 247 guest rooms and suites surrounded by soaring pines and sweeping mountain views nestled among the snowy peaks of Banff National Park and is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

JOB SUMMARY

As part of the Executive Team, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for all Human Resource Department operations with one direct report; the HR Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee recruitment and hiring process
  • Orientation and on boarding of new team members, i.e. review of policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Ensure Hotel’s HR Manual and Employee Handbook are updated and kept current

· Knowledge of budget processes to manage the Human Resource & Housing Department

budgets

  • Employee relations; including Hotel Recognition Programs and organizing team events
  • In collaboration with other Executive Team members, leads organizational development initiatives.
  • Maintain active and inactive confidential employee files and information.
  • Ensuring all HR processes and policies are adhered to by Management. Reviewing and revising policies as needed in collaboration with the GM.
  • Provide information and assistance to staff, supervisors and Managers on human resource procedures and work-related issues
  • Other duties as required

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and in a fast-paced environment
  • Delivers on deadlines and adapts to changing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated understanding of Canadian and Provincial labour laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Knowledge of ADP is an asset
  • Experience with Change Management considered an asset
  • Experience working with HRIS
  • Previous hospitality industry a strong asset, particularly at the resort level.
  • Knowledgeable in Alberta OHS standards and processes.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3-5 years HR related experience with at least 2 years at the management level required.

OR 5 Years of Hospitality Industry Experience at a leadership level with at least 2 of those

years being Human Resources related.

  • College undergraduate diploma or higher in Human Resources preferred.
