Human Resources Coordinator

Part-time Position (20 Hours)

FIFE HOUSE is an AIDS service organization providing supportive housing and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS.

The organization is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the role of Human Resources Coordinator. This role is required to work 20 hours a week. The Human Resources Coordinator plays a critical role in fostering an inclusive culture at Fife House. The position supports the human resources unit by providing critical coordination and administrative support to the Human Resources Manager and acts as the first point of contact for human resources queries involving standard HR policies and procedures.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Manager/Department.
  • Tracks and updates human resources information, including performance appraisals, training & development, staff movement, etc.
  • Provides staff members with information regarding human resources policies and procedures
  • Prepares written human resources correspondence
  • Coordinates onboarding for new employees
  • Coordinates recruitment activities
  • - Posting jobs
  • - Reviewing job applications
  • - Organizing interviews
  • - Conducting interviews
  • - Reference Checks
  • Completes HR data analysis and reporting as directed
  • Coordinate training activities in conjunction with managers
  • Assists with the preparation of HR metrics
  • Assists with human resources ad hoc projects
  • Prepares orientation packages, including printing, photocopying and packaging
  • Ensures all human resources documents are filed and stored in an orderly manner
  • Assists with completion of health and life insurance enrollment for new employees
  • Assists with completion and submission of WSIB applications
  • Participates in the Joint Health & Safety Committee

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in a Human Resources or a related discipline from a recognized college/university or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a similar position or environment
  • Sound knowledge of human resources best practices
  • Sound knowledge of Employment Standards Act (ESA), Human Rights Code, AODA
  • Sound knowledge and experience using HRIS to input data and create reports
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles and practices
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills that will facilitate effective, productive and appropriate relationships with staff of Fife House
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • High level of confidentiality, diplomacy and integrity
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate activities
  • Ability to input data with accuracy
  • Ability to work on own initiative and work well in a team
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with diverse populations
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and documentation software
  • Excellent orientation to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in independent settings as well as within a team

CONSIDERED AN ASSET

  • Ceridian Dayforce or ADP Workforce Now HRIS experience
  • HR Certification or working towards certification
  • HRPA membership
