The Assistant Housing Manager is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the Housing department. The role of the assistant manager demands a high level of professionalism and maturity. Strong personal integrity, leadership skills and the ability to multi-task effectively are crucial. The Assistant Manager must be willing to help out in any area of the Housing department and lead by example.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage housing allocations and transfers fairly and efficiently
  • Supervise and assist the front desk staff with all check-ins/outs, transfers, and weekly unit inspections
  • Ensure compliance of the Housing tenancy agreement with all tenants and address issues in an effective and consistent manner
  • Record maintenance issues and follow up to make sure they are corrected in a timely manner
  • Ensure health and safety standards for staff accommodations are being met
  • Ongoing training & supervision of all Housing staff
  • Schedule and payroll management for all housing staff
  • Hire and train new staff in a variety of positions
  • Update weekly reports, complete and submit all paperwork correctly and prior to deadlines
  • Order housing supplies and equipment; tracking deliveries
  • Conduct seasonal employee performance reviews and evaluations – ensure to address poor performance related issues, if required
  • Abide by housing and employment standards in all aspects of the Housing Department
  • Be familiar with Residential Tenancy Act, LLSR Tenancy Agreement, LLSR Employee Handbook, and Parks Canada policies
  • Complete other tasks as assigned, including assisting other sub departments of Housing

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Must possess excellent previous management and leadership experience – minimum 2-3 years
  • Excellent administration and clerical skills
  • Must be highly organized with the staffing and administration of the department
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to balance the needs of staff, tenants, and outside interests
  • Must be able to lift and move equipment and supplies in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Adhere to all LLSR policies and procedures

Work Schedule:

4 days on/3 days off in the summer season, 5 days on/2 days off in the winter season

Business casual – to be discussed at time of interview
