Job Duties:
1. Maintains Driver Qualification files, vehicle inspections and Hours of Service records.
2. Supports and administers federal, state or provincial compliance training related to DOT and NSC requirements.
3. Assists equipment managers and operations leaders to coordinate with corporate legal, compliance, safety and risk teams to accurately respond to audits and inquiries regarding accidents, reportable incidents and develop Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
4. Supports key functional leaders in a matrixed organization to address various infractions, violations, citations and accidents.
5. Supports and helps to administer the day-to-day filing and office work; assisting the employer on various tasks throughout the day.
6. Supports cross-company training for compliance requirements, processes and monitors user acceptance. Escalates non-compliance issues to DOT/NSC Manager, Corporate Compliance, Director of Equipment, and Operations leadership for direction as needed.
7. Supports the Electronic Logbook system and historical data for the Company.
8. Assists managers and drivers with corrections of driver data.
9. Helps to identify compliance issues by monitoring the Dashboard.
10. Helps to maintain a centrally controlled event log for incidents, accidents and reportable items across the company, in coordination with Corporate Safety, Risk, and Legal.
11. Maintains knowledge of the Company’s values and strategic plan.
12. Support published corporate policies.
13. Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
14. Conducting monthly OH&S meetings and maintaining records of the same.
15. Create and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily
16. Conduct safety observation reports on a regular basis, depending on the length of the project
17. Attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks
18. Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machinery operation
19. Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
20. Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident
21. Maintain documentation of the company’s safety procedures, accidents and related events
22. Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as fire and insurance personnel

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or a related field may be preferred
- Registration as a Certified Safety Professional or similar form of licensure as a safety officer
- Experience with PowerPoint, Excel and auditor safety software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation
- Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers
- Understanding of how to read blueprints and other construction plans preferred in some fields
- Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
