Position Purpose
Responsible for overseeing the operations of a food manufacturing plant including overall strategy, planning, production, regulatory and customer interface and co-ordination.
Responsibilities
Lead Production, Quality Assurance and Overall Operations of the plant with a team of 15-20 people in a high standard food manufacturing facility
· Maintain operations within established standards for quality, productivity, safety and housekeeping; organizing and prioritizing workload on a regular basis to ensure efficient and optimal production.
· Develop and drive key performance indicators across all aspects of operations including production, QA, shipping & receiving (for example, line speeds, efficiency, waste, labor, compliance to schedule etc.).
· Provide expertise on engineering and process related issues, especially with respect to improvement of the manufacturing area and ongoing running and maintenance of lines and equipment.
. Drive the Food Safety Culture in the company, maintain regular liaison with regulators and QA auditors, and be the lead contact for CFIA, SQF or any other Certification bodies
. Ensure adherence to all quality requirements including GMP’s, HACCP, SOP’s, specifications etc.
. Have a Customer focused approach and be comfortable in pitching to customers for business and delivering on their requirements.
· Lead the development of new products and all related aspects including necessary changes in equipment and plant set up.
· Develop, lead, motivate and coach employees through effective training and recognition.
. Manage the vendor / supplier program for the company, including quality assessment and procurement at the most efficient cost.
· Manage production schedules and ensure schedules are met; follow-up and deal with any problems that may occur.
· Ensure compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Food Safety Act, employment regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
· Minimum ten years’ experience in food production, preferably in frozen meat and pasta products
· Senior supervisory level experience of minimum 3 years, preferably as a Plant Manager
· Demonstrated leadership and vision in supervising staff and growth.
· Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and diverse workplace.
· Ability to multi-task, and change priorities constantly as needed.
· Relevant experience in dealing with regulatory and certification bodies such as CFIA, SQF, Halal & Kosher Certifications, Food Safety Audits, etc.

Salary: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
