POSITION OVERVIEW
We have an opportunity for a full-time Electronic Disclosure Coordinator with the Police Services department. This a specialized and technical position in which you will be responsible for updating and maintaining procedures and protocols for the digitization of investigative information in the major case management system and developing business processes and data management solutions to support investigative data analysis and organize the entry and retrieval of data. You will also be responsible for assembling, organizing, and consolidating electronic disclosure packages pertaining to criminal investigations for submission to Crown Counsel; and liaising with and providing assistance to file coordinators and investigative teams in the development and review of file information throughout the investigative and court cycle. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual that works well independently and in a team environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of Grade 12 and post-secondary education in criminology, data management or related field, plus considerable related experience in a police and/or court environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Considerable knowledge of the requirements and capabilities of the major case management system in relation to the work performed;
  • Considerable knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to the assembly, organization and consolidation of electronic disclosure packages pertaining to criminal investigations;
  • Sound knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures used in the work and of techniques pertaining to data entry, manipulation and retrieval;
  • Sound knowledge of English grammar and spelling and of police terminology used in the work;
  • Sound knowledge of the software, databases and police data systems used in the work;
  • Ability to update and maintain work procedures and protocols, develop and modify business rules and processes, and create data management solutions;
  • Ability to organize and assemble electronic disclosure packages in a comprehensible format;
  • Ability to ensure that disclosure packages are in compliance with established protocols;
  • Ability to provide assistance in the review of case documentation and to identify incomplete or inaccurate information;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts;
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to operate equipment used in the work.



LICENCES AND CERTIFICATES

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance.
