Reports to: Vice President, Research and Development
Location: 9 Napoleon Road, Barrie (hybrid)
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Clearly understand the goals of the Company and develop a vision of exactly how Research & Development will help achieve them. Responsible for the Research and Development department in a senior leadership role, including all activities and associates.
- Develop product concept and detailed design, including associated accessories.
- Propose performance tests, evaluate the findings, and provide recommendations for technical solutions.
- Introduce best practices and methods to the Company regarding product lines and evaluate the progress and provide advanced guidance.
- Develop and maintain testing procedure and methods, as well as the engineering and inspection acceptance criteria for product lines.
- Serve as a main product expert, possess the ability to effectively articulate equipment features, function, benefits and competitive advantage of our product line.
- Review product developments and improvements to meet government standards and Company high quality assurance.
- Work with sales and with end customers to develop the application, performance, manufacturability, serviceability, and costing design parameters for product development.
Education and Experience:
- University Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ experience managing and developing Associates and product
- Manufacturing industry or Engineering environment preferred
- Professional Designation P. ENG is considered an asset. G2 Gas Fitter License, Project Management Certificate, Basics of Supply Chain Management Certificate considered assets.
- MS Office Suite
- Code practices an asset
