Dental Assistant (FT)

• Level 1 or level 2 background in chairside.
• HARP certified. IPAC, WHMIS, CPR - you will be asked to provide documents that are up-to-date on hire for this current calendar year.
• Reference from a dentist or previous employer is required.
• Diploma from a recognized dental assisting program.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
• Efficient in working with computers and dental software.
• English literacy is mandatory for this position both writing and speaking to a level at which patients, staff, and referring offices can understand you.
• local and able to commute to downtown Toronto reliably

• Don and doff PPE following IPAC standards.
• Set up and tear down rooms.
• Sterilize according to IPAC standards and protocols.
• Daily Harp Testing and recording.
• Take x-rays with RINN with and without rubber dam capturing the apex.
• Working knowledge of endodontic setup and armamentarium.
• Chairside assisting root canal therapy, retreatment, and apical surgery.
• Communicate with referring doctors’ offices, patients, and pharmacies,
• Record notes into a chart when dictated by a dentist.
• Utilize dental software.
• Keep track of invoices and inventory, and order and organize supplies.
• Maintain inventory, make orders, restock.
• Assist in light cleaning duties of clinical areas.

• ODA and ODAA wage reports, the strength of references, and clinical experience will determine wage.
• Scrubs provided.

We are a privately owned specialty practice (solo endodontist) seeking a chairside assistant skilled in 4-handed dentistry and the usage of dental software/computers. We provide flexible hours and a manageable workflow as this is a non-assignment boutique practice where we see one patient at a time.

We are a boutique endodontic practice nestled between Corktown and Leslieville in downtown Toronto. We have one primary endodontist who is also the practice owner.
