Job description
  • To be totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach with co-workers and supervisors
  • To be responsible for the preparation of all pastries and breads, and plated desserts and to maintain high quality standards of the establishment
  • Good to excellent basic knowledge of pastry and baked goods
  • Efficient professional willing to learn new things in our kitchen
Skills Requirements
  • Cook Red Seal Certificate in Pastry or International Equivalent
  • Additional 2-3 years experience in a reputable culinary establishment
  • Fluent in English
Job Description
  • To be fully aware of the preparation and service of all desserts on the hotel menus
  • To prepare and present desserts on hotel menus according to Pastry Chef’s expectations
  • Duties associated with this role includes preparing pastries, desserts, breakfast and other baked goods, baking breads
  • To maintain portion control guidelines to ensure the profitability of kitchen is maintained
  • To record temperature checks on food and in storage areas as directed to ensure statutory requirements are met and report any variances are rectified immediately
  • To ensure food material are stored correctly and rotated to meet company and legal requirements
  • To practice the correct and safe use and care of all items of equipment
  • To consistently deliver superior customer service
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Enforce strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen
  • Trouble shoot any problems that may arise

Due to our location in Banff National Park, the Post Hotel provides all employees with staff housing. For this reason, we are unable to accommodate potential candidates who have families with children.

Terms of employment: Permanent/Full Time

Wage: $20.75 to start depending on experience

Staff Accommodation Available: Single, private rooms, staff meal $550/month
