This is a full-time, salaried Accounting Management position reporting directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operational accounting team, including the oversight and review of AP, AR, G/L, payroll, and statutory reporting. This position has 2 direct reports.
  • Manage the accurate and timely completion of monthly financial statements for multiple entities in compliance with ASPE GAAP
  • Period, quarter, and year-end close process
  • Direct the monthly close process, including balance sheet account reconciliations and analytical review procedures, and variance analysis
  • Assisting the CFO with analysis and forecasting for cash flow
  • Assist the CFO in managing the external accountants during the year-end review process
  • Oversee the training and development of the financial accounting team, delegate duties and execute authority to meet departmental and organizational goals
  • Complete draw packages needed to finance projects
  • Review closing Statement of Adjustments
  • Monthly budget analysis on a project level
  • Responsible for performing/reviewing tax payments and ensuring timely payment to the government. (i.e. WSIB, HST, etc) and ensuring that these accounts are reconciled each and every period
  • Other special projects as assigned by the CFO
  • Improve policies and procedures related to data integrity and management, and follow best practices with a focus on internal control and efficiency

Requirements:

  • 5 plus years of post- CPA qualification experience, with at least 2 years at the management level
  • CPA designation with an undergraduate degree in Business or Finance/ Accounting
  • Exposure to owner- managed businesses
  • Sound knowledge and application of accounting standards and principles
  • Strong analytical, supervisory, and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to motivate and develop team members to their full potential
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite including pivot tables and v lookups within Excel
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Results- oriented team player
  • Must be hands-on and possess the ability to deal with higher level, strategic issues
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online (QBO) an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $110,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
