With over 25 years of experience, we are a global leader in environmental and advisory solutions.Job DescriptionAs our new Civil/Water Resources Engineer, you will work on the implementation of all aspects of civil/water resources projects and assignments associated with site servicing, grading, hydrotechnical design and analysis, environmental assessments, and flood risk assessment and mitigation design. You will also work on stormwater management (e.g., floodplain mapping, pond design, low-impact development), stream restoration, mining, and dam break studies alongside senior experts on the team.This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise to a highly engaged and collaborative provincial and national team, where your efforts and impact will be recognized and valued.Key ResponsibilitiesYour specific responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare engineering designs and supporting technical documentation including reports, drawings, correspondence, work plans, and specifications for submission to clients and regulators.
  • Manage projects and proposals and ensure successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC and client satisfaction.
  • Work cross-functionally with other technical disciplines in the company.
  • Undertake field work as necessary and/or manage/oversee completion of field work by junior staff.
  • Complete hydrologic and hydraulic modelling on project-specific basis using commonly used software (e.g., PCSWMM).

Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in Civil and/or Water Resources engineering consulting.
  • Professional status or eligibility for professional status, preferably in ON, AB, or BC.
  • Engineering design experience, including site grading and servicing design, erosion and sediment control, and hydrotechnical design of stormwater management infrastructure (e.g., SWM ponds, Low Impact Development) and stream restoration.
  • Mining related and/or dam break flood modelling experience is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with relevant guidelines, standards, and codes including various levels of government, and industry-specific regulations and guidelines.
  • Adept with commonly used hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, Visual OTTHYMO).
  • Working knowledge of computerized environments common for engineering design including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Office 365.
  • Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites/clients.
