Campus Recruiter - Technology, Data & Analytics

Who We Are?

Is this a serious question? We are the engine that influences a generation of talent by finding and engaging future superstars for all of our business lines globally. We are a crucial partner to the business and we attract, assess, select, and develop top campus talent from around the world. Developing this young professional talent is at the core of what we do at Scotiabank, where the focus in on customization and strategy. The Campus Recruitment and Talent Development Team is responsible for finding and developing future leaders.

We are part of the Global Human Resources group at Scotiabank which is a strategic corporate function that operates around the world. This isn’t your parents’ HR group – this is a strategy maker, key alliance driver, and influencer. When your biggest assets walk home every night (we obviously mean people) you need amazing HR professionals to find, hire, develop, train, and engage these assets!

Your Career as a Campus Recruiter:

You’ll be reporting to the Campus Recruitment Team Manager - Strategic Functions & Technology and be responsible for managing end-to-end campus talent acquisition in Technology, Data & Analytics, including; building, executing, and developing on campus strategy. Yes, you’ll be helping create and delivering presentations on and off-campus, building and maintaining a pipeline of suitable candidates across various geographies through all stages of the recruiting pipeline, managing social media deliverables, planning, managing and executing events and large-scale conferences, assessing candidates, managing relationships, working and negotiating with key vendors and internal business leaders, leveraging technologies, candidate tracking and management, offer management, and providing support and mentorship to other members of the team – it’s a big, busy job not for the faint of heart.

We believe in relationships so we want someone that loves people, is very competitive and driven and who wants to win. And you need to be innovative…extremely innovative. If you think our style of campus recruitment is posting jobs and screening resumes you couldn’t be more wrong. It is a busy job with lots of travel to campuses all over Canada (and the potential for international travel).

If you want tremendous exposure to leadership, a job that is never routine or boring, travel opportunities, an amazing hyper-friendly and creative team to work with every day, flexibility, then this is the place for you. Sound too good to be true? It is if you aren’t willing to work as hard as all of our amazing teammates – we’re a close-knit group that won’t ever stop wanting to win.

This role will require a moderate degree of travel (by car, rail and plane) within Canada to various universities and colleges, as well as the potential to travel internationally on occasion. Seasonally, this travel can become considerable. As well, due to the timing of on and off-campus events, this role is not "9 to 5" and will require work during evenings and weekends at times. Scotiabank is committed to being a flexible workplace and our team works hard together to make sure of it!

Qualifications/ Requirements:

For this role, we believe in hiring people for our team based on skills and talent, over experience. Experience helps a lot and someone with a year or so of campus recruitment, especially in technology, will have less of a learning curve, but we also can teach you a lot ourselves (again, we’re a close-knit group). You will want to be someone who can manage a lot at once and manage many people/relationships at once. You need to be creative and enthusiastic with a friendly and positive outlook. Organization is a key to success as is creativity and self-motivation. And we’ll throw in “stress-management” for those crunch periods where we all have to bare down.

Education:

A University Degree or Post-Graduate Degree in a field relating to Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Commerce is preferred, though not required.
