Operating within the Ministry of Citizens’ Services, Supply Services, this position directs all branch operations in accordance with its mandate to provide quality, on-time, cost-effective services.

Product Distribution Centre (PDC) operates a fully cost recoverable program which is Health Canada and BC College of Pharmacist licensed. Operations include procurement, inventory management, online customer order processing and account management and warehouse and distribution Province wide.

The program product distribution includes medical devices; pharmaceutical drugs; nutritional foods; diapers; incontinence and industrial janitorial products; some uniform and protective clothing items. Supply chain activities support various Government and Broader Public Sector programs. The position is responsible for total operation and strategic oversight and leadership in directing client focused programs which consolidates volumes and provides sourcing and supply solutions within a time sensitive supply chain environment. The position is responsible to ensure that operations are directed in a manner that ensures compliance to Health Canada Good Manufacturing Practices, Medical Device and Narcotics Control Licensed Dealer regulations.

Requires direct oversight responsibility to Health Canada as “Senior Person in Charge” (SPIC), and to BC College of Pharmacists as designated “Pharmacy Owner” in terms of respective Regulation for Quality Assurance. Directs the growth and development of the business and people within the operation and works closely with the other branch lines of business as well as with stakeholder groups, Ministry and Broader Public sector partners and 3rd party suppliers and service providers.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or in another field related to the role, or professional accreditation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Min 5 years of progressive management experience in a private or public-sector marketplace.
  • Min 5 years managing contracts or equivalent project management experience.
  • Experience leading a team through change, motivating, and driving performance.
  • Experience leading strategic or business planning activities.
  • Experience leading and resolving complex staff and/or client issues.

Preferences may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience working in the health care and Pharmaceutical supply environment.
  • Experience managing staff in a union environment.
  • Experience working in a logistics, supply chain, warehouse, and inventory management environment.
  • Experience and knowledge with ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Experience in procurement, contracting and vendor management environment.
