Make an impact with our Assurance & Accounting team as an Accounting Technician. ROLE @ MNP

Responsibilities

• Assist with notice to reader engagements, including preparation of financial statements and corporate tax returns.
• Preparing personal tax returns, partnership returns and trust returns
• Preparing information returns including T4s, T5s and T5018’s
• Preparation of all government remittances (GST, PST, EHT, Payroll, WCB)
• Communicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments and installments
• Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process
• Work with accounting software and provide support to clients
• Attend internal MNP courses to further develop your accounting and assurance knowledge
  

Skills And Experience

• Entry level to 2 years of accounting related experience
• Ability to work independently, but willing to ask questions when needed
• Experience in preparing T4s and T5s and knowledge of personal and corporate tax is preferred
• Understanding of payroll, bookkeeping and record keeping practices on manual and computerized system(s) is considered an asset
• Experience working with, or exposure to, accounting and tax software such as Caseware, Taxcycle, Sage and cloud based software such as QBO and Xero is beneficial
• Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word and Excel. Some travel may be required
