JOB SUMMARY:
The City of Moncton is currently accepting applications from students for the position of 911 Operator / Dispatcher / Telecommunications Operator with the Codiac Regional RCMP.

Student must possess proven multi-tasking abilities, solid computer and keyboarding skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment while handling issues in a calm and professional manner.

We are seeking team players that are committed to providing quality service and want to work in an exciting, challenging and rewarding field. The employees must be able to work a 4 days on and 4 days off schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The positions work with the Codiac Regional RCMP and are located at the 9-1-1 Center in Dieppe.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Post-secondary education from an accredited institution where office skills are acquired, a legal or policing program or equivalency would be an asset.

LANGUAGE:

  • Must be bilingual (English and French)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum typing speed of forty (40) wpm is required

CONDITIONS OF WORK:

  • Must be available to work, weekends, holidays and during severe weather conditions.
  • Intensive background RCMP security clearance is required as a condition of employment
  • The position requires the incumbent to have the ability to communicate verbally in both official languages and have the ability to enter data in the English language.
