Project Designer/Engineer

Land Development & Stormwater Management

Location: Guelph, Ontario

(full-time permanent position)

This Position Involves (but is not limited to):

  • Complete site grading, drainage and servicing design calculations.
  • Stormwater management system design, analysis and reporting.
  • Preparation of reports, detailed design calculations, application forms and cost estimates for submission to municipalities and review agencies.
  • Liaising with clients, municipalities, and review agencies to confirm design criteria, address comments and confirm scope of work.
  • Development of construction cost estimates, form of tenders, construction specifications and contract documents.
  • Liaison with clients, municipalities, and review agencies
  • Other duties as assigned.

Professional Knowledge and Qualifications / Role Experience Required:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited school
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience, more is an asset
  • Ability to step into existing projects at both preliminary and detailed design stages, including familiarity with the development process and Planning Act.
  • Eligible for C.E.T. or P.Eng. or working towards professional engineers’ designation
  • Have the ability to work in a team environment, while also being self-motivated with excellent written and oral communication skills and an aptitude for problem solving.
  • Experience and aptitude to work with Microsoft Office, and various hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
