Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor, under the direction of the Plant Superintendent, will primarily be responsible to ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. This position will ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic hiring, assignment of duties, discipline, and dismissal. This role will also oversee staff to ensure work is being performed according to established standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures
• Analyze departmental operations and identify areas requiring improvement
• Approve vacation requests and monitor vacation schedules to ensure appropriate coverage
• Celebrate successes and foster an atmosphere of success
• Ensure that employees adhere to all health and safety regulations
• Plan and conduct meetings with employees to communicate team targets, goals, and projects
• Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
• Ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic hiring, assignment of duties, discipline, and dismissal
• Oversee staff to ensure work is being performed according to established standards
• Plan the department’s workload and flow

Job Requirements

• Strong formal and informal leadership skills
• Must be able to work rotating shifts
• Five years of experience in a management role within a manufacturing setting
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
• Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team to achieve and exceed their goals
• Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
• Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations
