This position consists of leading a team in the Production Department of the Iberville plant (700 Thomas Avenue, St-Jean-sur-Richelieu) of the ELIP division for the Microlectric/Cable Tray/Super Strut/Joslyn product lines, by ensuring continuous and efficient production operations in accordance with the plans, procedures, and quality and safety standards and policies.

Reporting to the head of Production & Maintenance, you will contribute to the timely and cost-effective transformation of parts and raw materials into ABB products by managing resources in order to achieve the objectives.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead capacity planning and resource optimization for the Production Department (20 to 30 employees) – Evening shift.
  • Identify production deficiencies, propose improvements and supervise their implementation.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to the technical equipment and installations.
  • Work closely with HR administration to ensure that production is properly organized, staffed, and directed.
  • Guide, motivate, and develop less experienced team members to reach their potential.

Your background

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in managing unionized personnel as a production supervisor or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working on a production line. (Supervisory experience is an advantage.)
  • Knowledge of Excel / Word / PowerPoint.
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • DCS in management or any other related field or equivalent experience.
  • Spoken and written French (English is an asset).
