We are looking for a dynamic Production Supervisor - Afternoon Shiftto join our team! This position will supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of workers in consultation with the Operations Manager. The individual in the role must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act in order to provide safety leadership through regular safety inspections, observations and reinforcing safe work behaviours. The role will involve resolving work problems and recommending measures to improve productivity.


Responsibilities
:
  • Direct and schedule the activities of staff to achieve business needs
  • Manage employees including participating in recruitment and progressive discipline activities, conducting performance evaluations, ensure adequate training, skills and abilities are demonstrated regularly and consistently, and initiating actions for improvement when deficiencies are identified
  • Continually strive to improve processes and systems to improve efficiencies and competitiveness
  • Maintain quality standards and a clean work environment free from safety hazards
  • Ensure production schedule is followed and we are adhering to inventory bay storage capacities and month end plan
  • Prepare finished good outputs from production that meet downstream vendor requirements
  • Review production plan and line specific work instructions to determine production requirements, and requisitions tools, equipment and supplies to meet production goals and customer requirements
  • Ensure that security requirements and processes are in place to ensure data destruction and security requirements
  • Analyze requirements, prepares production schedule, and distributes work assignments according to order priorities and worker abilities
  • Coordinate duties associated with inventory management (e.g. month end cut-off, labelling, cycle counts, physical counts, reconciliation, evaluations, etc.)
  • Ensure that inventory levels are properly managed and customer settlements can be completed in a timely fashion
  • Assist in supporting the company to drive continuous improvement to reduce manufacturing expense
  • Reviews and follows up on all reported accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions, making improvements, as necessary
  • Reviews and implements the written quality and environmental policies and procedures, making improvements, as necessary

Qualifications
:
  • Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field preferred, in absence of degree/diploma, 3 years of relevant experience is required
  • Experience: Minimum three 3 years of manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Certifications / Designations: Lock Out / Tag Out Training
  • Considerable working knowledge of Microsoft office programs
  • Outstanding leadership, strong decision making, organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated familiarity with health, safety, and environmental and employment legislation required

  • High volume of heavy equipment traffic
  • High Exposure to designated substances; Lead
  • High Exposure to loud noise; vibrations; hot and cold temperatures; dusty conditions
  • Wearing of required PPE, respirator, safety glasses, gloves and shoes
  • Fast paced warehousing, processing and manufacturing
