What would be your responsibilities?

The Production Manager assists and works closely with the Plant Manager with day-to-day production operations including production planning, production activities and quality control. The incumbent plays a key role in ensuring the successful operations of the plant.

We need you to:

Production/Operations:

  • Oversee activities of multiple departments, including preparation line (stacker), bagging line, treating, shipping, receiving, maintenance and quality control.
  • Support Plant Manager with management duties.
  • Approve production orders and interact frequently with the procurement and planning groups.
  • Collect, maintain and review production data for potential improvements and participate in their implementation.
  • Actively participate in cycle and annual inventory.
  • Monitor quality and workmanship to ensure quality control.
  • Work closely with various departments to optimize inventory loss with maximum recovery.

Labour Management:

  • Planning of production schedules and communicate with Production Supervisors for labour requirements.
  • Manages payroll transactions.
  • Manages employee relations and performance management.
  • Handle job postings and recruitment.
  • Provide/oversee training of all production staff and supervisors.
  • Ensures plant guidelines are enforced.
  • Manage employees’ vacation requests.
  • Deal with Ministry of Labor & Ministry of the Environment on different issues/requests.

Health and Safety and TRD programs:

  • Ensure that environmental and safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Provides guidance on occupational health and safety programs and on TRD program.
  • Train employees on safety process and procedures.
  • Actively participate in the health and safety committee.
  • Assist the Plant Manager with workplace safety insurance board accident reporting.

  • Intermediate Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • SAP environment experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of wood treating industry
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards

What we expect from you?

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in English
